THE 'MAGIC MOVE' 1min 57sec

A bit of a corny term, but could we say that there is something which separates top players from the rest. Well, if we look at the mechanics of the swing, the way in which the front arm folds after impact would be it.
This simple fold is the result of momentum pulling the arm into the follow through position. Through impact the forearm rotates and the wrist unhinges before snapping back on itself.
Unfortunately, the number one fault in golf is to pull from the front arm and shoulder to start the downswing and this then shows up in the follow through as a splay of the elbows and general distortion of the triangle (chicken wing). It represents a real energy leak within the swing and also spraying the ball everywhere with poor strike.
This very move, correct or incorrect, is the perfect example of why golf instruction should be more focussed on understanding movement than on learning positions and angles. If your swing thoughts are of a technical nature, progress will be very slow, if at all.
