BALANCE AND POSTURE - 3min 58sec
We should maybe start here with a negative and say that there are two things that upset balance when we swing a club. Firstly, setting up off balance, and secondly, using the muscles of the arms and shoulders during the swing either for ‘power’ or attempting to help or steer the ball along.
Good posture will allow our shoulders to rotate as fully as our physique will allow.
The spine should be comfortably straight before we simply bend from the hips. We finish the sequence off by flexing the knees. If the golfer slouches forward from the spine, they can not turn fully and could do long term spine damage.
